     Jacob Epling Sr. was born circa 1806. He was the son of Paul Epling Jr. and Elizabeth B. Harless. Jacob Epling Sr. married Mary Lafon, daughter of John Lafon Sr. and Mary Bowen.

     James H. Epling was born circa 1838 in Giles County, Virginia. He was the son of Jacob Epling Sr. and Mary Lafon. James H. Epling married Amanda Elizabeth Sartin, daughter of Joel Sartin Jr. and Elizabeth Lafon, 22 October 1857 in Giles County, Virginia. James H. Epling married Ira Ormand Caldwell, daughter of Henry Caldwell and Eliza Jane Reynolds, 14 June 1899 in Giles County, Virginia.

     Dryden Ballard Epling was born circa 1839 in Virginia. He was the son of Jacob Epling Sr. and Mary Lafon. Dryden Ballard Epling married Martha Clemintine Thomas 17 December 1867 in Giles County, Virginia.

Jacob Epling Jr. married Olive Savina Louise Sartin, daughter of John Lafon Sartin and Westa Victoria Price, 12 August 1875 in Giles County, Virginia.
