     Hazel Gay Harless was born on 9 January 1902 in Iola, Roane County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Delaware Howard Harless and Mary Belle Fox. Hazel Gay Harless married Charles Wade Butcher, son of James Butcher, 22 April 1921 in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia.

     Hazel Gay Harless died 11 October 1995 in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio.
